Presenter & Programme Overview
Dr Ian Reilly
Consultant Podiatric Surgeon
Ian Reilly qualified as a Podiatrist in 1988, and as a Podiatric Surgeon in 1996, and has performed over 12,000 surgical procedures. He has a particular interest in bunion and soft tissue surgery and has lectured internationally on skin surgery and injection therapy.
Podiatric Surgery is well established in Northamptonshire and Ian led the service for the local NHS Trust from 2001 to 2024 before moving into full-time private practice. Prior to this, he was a Senior Lecturer at Northampton School of Podiatry.
Ian has published multiple papers in international journals, and has written chapters in Merrimen’s Assessment of the Lower Limb and Brown’s Skin and Minor Surgery. He is a co-author of Foot and Ankle Injection Techniques: A Practical Guide.

A practical and evidence-informed update covering medical assessment for nail surgery, cauterisation techniques, incisional techniques and managing complications.

A focused update designed to refresh and strengthen your knowledge in prescription-only medicines. Topics include legal and ethical considerations, pharmacology, indications beyond the digital block, MSDs, management of LA failure, medico-Legal Issues.

Tibial Blocks & Neuroanatomy
An engaging session exploring lower limb neuroanatomy, practical local anaesthetic techniques, and clinical application.

A hands-on workshop introducing practical ultrasound applications relevant to podiatry and lower limb assessment.

What an incredible event. This CPD trip to Chamonix, organised by Ultimate Podiatrist and delivered by Ian Reilly, was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The small cohort size made a huge difference, creating a true classroom-style environment where discussion was encouraged, ideas could be explored in depth, and learning felt highly personalised. Ian’s delivery was engaging, practical, and immediately applicable to clinical practice. Although comedic content needs improvement! The location itself was exceptional, not only providing a stunning backdrop, but also allowing for the perfect balance between focused learning and valuable “play time” to recharge and reflect. It created a relaxed atmosphere that really enhanced the overall experience. Perhaps one of the biggest highlights was the opportunity to network with like-minded professionals. The setting and group size made it easy to build meaningful connections, share experiences, and learn from each other. I would highly recommend this CPD experience to anyone looking to develop their skills in a supportive, engaging, and inspiring environment.

Amazing CPD event and mountain experience. I learnt a lot from the thorough lectures, and not just information, but real skills that could be put into action straight away. I had a great time with great people, and skied everyday in the mountains. The atmosphere and culture of the group was the best of any CPD event that I have attended. Highly recommend!
